Fiesta Apron Swap!
Wanted to share pictures of the fun aprons that were exchanged for the Fiesta Swap hosted by Yarni Gras.
First one is the cute apron sent to me by Sherry! She made her first reversible apron with bright fiesta colors and added fun yoyo's, a loop to hang a towel on, and matching pot holders!
Next is the apron I made for Marcel. The colors were inspired by a pair of beaded earrings. The pattern was from Cindy Taylor Oates, More Retro Aprons book!

Tea for Two Apron Swap
Here are the aprons that my partner, Vea, and I swapped for the Sassy Tea for Two Apron Swap.
I asked for something pretty and feminine, so Vea sent me some of her favorite things! I love the floral fabric and detailing around the pocket and ruffle. She made a matching tissue holder that fits perfectly into the pocket. She also sent Earl Grey tea and my favorite biscotti!
Vea said she liked light blue and a ruffle, so I found this blue tea party theme fabric. The front has a double pocket, and the apron is reversible.
I also made this tea holder. The tea pot and cup are buttons!

Spring Color Apron Swap
I wanted to share pictures of the Apron I received for the Spring Color Apron Swap on Swap Bot. I said I was craving bright spring colors and flowers. This sweet apron was perfect! Donna added rick rack for a special touch!
This is my version of shabby chic in lavender, which my swap partner said were her favorites.
Reverse side with crisscross ties. This style is supposed to be very comfortable to wear.
I added a yoyo with lace and charms for that extra special touch.

Aprons and Tea Cozies
I just visited Jan's shop, J. Carrell Originals and she has the cutest aprons and tea cozies. The teapots hold 6 cups and the tea cozies keep the tea much warmer for a long period of time. Here is one of her cute aprons that she has made especially for the Tea for Two Apron Swap. Isn't it cute!

More Apron Swaps!
Well, I'm definitely hooked! I just sent off my St. Patrick's Day apron to my swap partner. Can't wait for her to see it! Now it's time to start working on my next creation for the Spring Color Apron Swap that I found on Swap Bot.
I've also signed up for the Fiesta Hot Mama Swap and the Tea for Two Sassy Apron Swap. I must be out of my mind! The apron bug has really bitten me! All I think about is which pattern should I try next... what fabric should I buy... what kind of goodies shall I send...
Is this normal? Will it wear off? Well, we shall see! Until then I am lost in a beautiful obsession!

My Valentine Swap Apron Came!
I was so excited when I came home tonight to find that my apron from the SSEN swap had arrived. Inside the box were many wrapped presents that were so fun to open. I can tell that Desiree, my swap partner. put a lot of thought and care into making and picking out all the fabulous gifts just for me!
My gift box included the following surprises:
A heart tin filled with goodies -- candy hearts, a pen with hearts, and heart shaped buttons (I love buttons).
A box of yummy Elmer's chocolates from New Orleans, which my excited kids promptly helped me eat!
Other goodies included heart stickers, a cute notepad with a chocolate covered strawberry, a pen with a bright red Poppy flower on top, and Pink Peony body butter! (I see a theme here, flowers and candy, just perfect for Valentine's Day)
But wait...it get's better!
Desiree loves to crochet and she made the cutest set of red and white potholders. The pattern is double thickness so I'm sure not to burn my hands!
She also made an adorable pincushion in the shape of a cupcake (complete with pins) I just started sewing and was just thinking the other day about how I wanted a cute pincusion. This one is so fun!
My favorite crocheted treasure is the sweetest white (with red trim) mini-dress. It is so delicate and absolutely perfect. I don't know how to crochet, so all these things are very special to me.
And last, but certainly not least is the very girly apron that Desiree made. She says it it her first one ever made and it turned out very cute! It is reversible (white with red and red with white) with contrasting pockets and an eyelet ruffle. It is exactly what I was hoping for!
Thank you Desiree for a wonderful swap package!

I had so much fun sewing for the SSEN apron swap that I have joined another one! It is the St. Patrick's Day Apron Swap with the Booming Aprons Club. I found some cute fabric today and am anxious to get started.
Sunday, January 25, 2009
I finished my apron for the Sassy Flirty Apron Swap today! I couldn't find a pattern that had exactly what I wanted, so I took ideas from three different patterns. I think it turned out great and I hope my swap partner likes it! The apron is reversible with a red and white heart print on one side and red dot fabric on the other. Pockets are contrasting.
And I also made a matching mini apron. I think this is so cute!
